How Adverts Are Displayed
There are a number of ad slots shown on every page of this site.
Each time an ad is shown, it starts at slot 1. Every 20 minutes thereafter it moves across by one slot, until it reaches the end of the row.
Please note that due to the DDP system your advert may actually be on-screen in multiple slots at the same time, or it may not appear again for a while after it last got to the end of the slots. How often your advert is shown is up to you!
Local Advertisers
For products and services based in or trading predominantly in Welton, advertising is free!
Advert campaigns for local advertisers run for 12 weeks, with your ad appearing prominently across the whole site several times. The free ad is equivalent to a £30 paid ad, and only one free ad per advertiser is allowed to run at any one time. You can have as many additional paid ads as you like.
How often your advert is shown depends on the number of other advertisers, and how much other advertisers have paid for their ad, using a system called DDP (Dynamic Display Probability).
Your free ad (equivalent to a £30 paid ad) has as much chance of being on display at any one time as any other free ad, but for example, will be shown approximately half as many times as a £60 12-week paid ad. You can increase the relative number of times it's shown by having additional paid ads or topping up your free ad's balance.
After your ad's 12 week campaign finishes, you'll be able to simply log in and restart your free ad again, completely free!
Non-Local Advertisers
Non-local advertisers (those advertising products and services not based in or trading predominantly in Welton) can advertise on this site starting at £20 for a 12 or 15 week campaign - that's from as low as just under 20 pence a day! During the campaign, your ad will be shown prominently across the whole site several times.
How often your advert is shown depends on the number of other advertisers, and how much other advertisers have paid for their ad, using a system called DDP (Dynamic Display Probability). This means that you decide how much you'd like to pay (minimum is £20).
You can of course adjust how much of your advert balance is allocated to each advert while it's running.
Your ad has as much chance of being on display at any one time as any other ad of the same value, but for example, will be shown approximately half as many times as an ad of the same campaign length costing twice as much. You can increase the relative number of times it's shown by paying more for your ad.
After your 12 or 15 week campaign finishes, you'll be able to log in and restart your ad(s) again, and if you like, decide a different amount to pay.
Advert Statistics
Optionally, every week you'll be sent an e-mail detailing the total number of times your ad has been displayed for every hour of every day, its current rank versus other ads running, and the click-through rate each day.
Advert Formats
We can create your adverts for you, or you can supply your own.
Advertiser-supplied ads must be either a JPEG, GIF or animated GIF, measuring 140 pixels wide by 80 pixels high, and no larger than 100KB. Advertiser-supplied Flash ads are NOT permitted.
Alternatively we can create an ad from text/logos you supply. This service is free to local advertisers (as defined above, static JPEG only), and waivered for non-profit organisations. For non-local advertisers, there is a one-off fee for the advert graphic creation in your choice of one of the following formats:
- JPEG or static GIF - £20
- Animated GIF - £50
- Animated Flash (no sound) - £70
Your advert can link to your choice of these options (only one) at no additional cost:
- A link to a page on this site (eg, an independent review or editorial about you)
- Your website link
- Your Yell.co.uk listing
- Your e-mail address (not recommended)
- Google/MultiMap link showing where to find you
Additional Terms
The terms on this page may change at any time and without any notice. Any changes to terms may also be applied to ad campaigns running at the time.
Adverts deemed offensive or linking to offensive material are not permitted.
Payments can be made by PayPal, cash or cheque.
Fully completed advert submissions normally begin display within 1 business day of payment clearance, but please allow up to 7 days for scheduling purposes. Adverts requiring our creative input may take an additional few days while artwork is completed and approved by you.
We reserve the right to reject, edit or remove any advert or advert campaign and for any reason - in cases of rejection after payment but before your campaign begins you will be refunded in full, in cases of removal of a running ad you will be refunded any difference owed, calculated on a daily basis.
